The ‘NIKE’ Eyebrow???

Hello Ladies,
Thank God its Friday.   see smiles on lots of people’s faces already. Okay, so today I would be talking about eyebrows. I know you might have been coming across lots of funny, scary or beautifully filed or sculptured eyebrows of late.
I call it the ‘Nike’ logo look alike some call it the ‘Door Handle’ look alike…. Lol.   Yes, I guess we are over the tattoo eye brows, but the ‘NIKE’ logo look alike eyebrows can’t stop grabbing my attention.
Eyebrows are important features of our facial appearances and it should never be overlooked. They help in framing the eyes and enhancing other facial features.
These days I love the fact that most girls now pay lots of attention in emphasising their brows.  But, some girls can over emphasise this. It is called transforming from ‘PLAIN TO STUNNING’ and not transforming you from ‘PLAIN TO SCARY’.
I have come across lots of hilarious eyebrow pictures that look like they were sponsored by ‘NIKE’ and I thought I should share them with you…  They are tagged with numbers below; you love them or hate them....  Post the number of your worst and best eyebrow in the comment box. Thanks.

Remember, beautifully sculptured and filled eyebrows would only transform you from ‘PLAIN TO STUNNING’. Stay Beautiful ladies.
Kindly post your comment and view about this below. Thanks.

THE MASCARA EFFECT!!!

Hello Barbie’s, It’s been a while, I know….. I have been caught up with lots of course work from school that I have paid less attention to my blog, which I feel terrible about. Anyways, I am hoping to catch up on the stuffs I have missed out on. How have you guys been?  “STUNNING”, as I thought right??

So today, I am going to be sharing tips about my new found addiction, “MASCARA”. Thinking about how much I dislike anything touching my eyelashes, kept me wondering why the sudden love for mascara, alas… It struck, ‘The Mascara Effect’.

Mascara is a must have make-up tool in any ladies make-up bag. Mascara has the ability to transform the appearances of your lashes from *PLAIN TO STUNNING*, by increasing its length, thickness and volume. For ladies, with naturally long lashes, Mascara helps to enhance the appearances of your eyes.

The Mascara effect is an easy way to draw attention to your eyes and also make your eye stand out with or without eye shadow.  Whereas, when mascara is applied improperly, it draws attention to the clumps in your lashes and creates an unattractive effect.
Applying mascara is as easy as applying any other make-up. It just takes some practices in learning the techniques. Here are some tips I use in applying my mascara to create that ‘PLAIN TO STUNNING’ effect;

Step one; having the right mascara is the first step in achieving your perfect mascara effect. In picking mascara, you should consider the formula you want; lengthening, thickening, waterproof or non-clumping, depending on the look you want to achieve.
Step two; before applying, remove any excess mascara from the tip of your wand by scraping the tip against the side of the tube or wiping it with tissue.

Step three; gently wiggle the wand left to right at the roots of your lashes which gives it the illusion of length. Then slowly pull the wand up towards the tip, wiggling as you go. Wiggling helps to separate lashes and minimize clumping
Step four; using a back and forth motion while moving the wand up helps your lashes create a curly effect.

Step five; you can apply addition coat, to create a defined look and get your lashes as thick as you want but usually 2-3 coats are required to avoid heavy eyelashes and clumping and this must be apply before the first coat is dried.
Step six; applying mascara for your bottom lashes is not always necessary. But I sometimes apply on mine, I gently apply a coat of mascara and I try to avoid smudging on my lower lid.
Step seven; in completing my application, I close my eye and used my mascara wand from my makeup brushes on my eyelashes, pulling through from the base to remove any clumps.

These are the basic steps I used in applying and creating the mascara effect. I hope it helps any of the lovely Barbie’s out there in transforming their eyelashes from ‘PLAIN TO STUNNING’ without the aid of a fake eye lashes. Have fun in achieving the mascara effect. Stay Beautiful.

LET YOUR CHEEKS MAKE THE STATEMENT THIS SEASON!!!

Many women stay off blush because they think it’s too dramatic. Properly applied blush is a secret weapon in achieving a healthy glow which can transform you from *PLAIN TO STUNNING*. An over dramatic blush is caused as a result of excessive application of blusher.

In making a statement with your blush today, the first step to take into cognisance is choosing the right colour or shade of blush that suits your natural skin tone best.

The blush is most times, the second to the last to be applied before the final powder application. So, after applying your other makeup, apply your blush with the aid of your blusher brush (it’s very important to use a quality blusher brush).

Gently put the blush on the brush and tap off any excess. Make sure you start with just a little blush to avoid excessive blush all over your cheeks.

Apply the blush gently on the apple of your cheek and blend the colour along your cheek bone. In figuring out the apple of your cheek you can either pout or smile.

Keep your blush light and make sure it’s properly blended with the aid of your blusher brush. If you have excessive powder blush on your face, gently apply translucent powder to tone it down.

Finish your makeup look by applying your powder all over your face.

ROCK RED LIPS THIS RED XMAS !!!

Hayooooss, how have you Ladies been? Missed me??? Have been quiet busy all through November that is why you didn't get to read so many post from me.. So Sorry, would make it up to you guys ladies by sharing with you some tips in achieving red lips that would transform you from *PLAIN TO STUNNING* this red Christmas. Yaayyy, its Christmas season and I am mega excited.

The red lipstick is undoubtedly a must have in your cosmetic bag. Many ladies gets a bit scared when it comes to pulling off a red lips. Finishing your makeup look with red lips definitely adds a touch of chic to your look. In achieving a perfect red lips, the first thing to take into cognisance is having the right shade of red lipstick.

When choosing the right shade of a red lipstick bear in mind your skin tone. For fair skin women, bright red lipstick would be suitable, for the medium skin, a lightly bright shade of red would work better and lastly for the dark skin a darker red shade would suits best.

Before applying your Lipstick, gently apply a lip balm and let it stay for a minute or two before wiping it off. The lip balm make the lips softer and also makes the crack on the lips invisible.

Line your lips with a lip liner that matches your lipstick. Gently, line the outer part of your lips and blend it in with a lip brush.

With the aid of a lip brush, apply your lipstick. Gently apply your lipstick from the lower lips to the upper lips. Then apply a red lip gloss to make your red lips last longer.

Lastly, to have a red lips that is super seductive, gently use a concealer around the edge of your mouth.

I hope this would help achieve the perfect red lips you had always hope for and would transform you from *PLAIN TO STUNNING*.

N.B: It is essential to use a lip brush instead of applying the lipstick directly.

HOW TO ACHIEVE A NATURAL LOOK!!!

    Most women want their makeup to look as natural as possible. Achieving and applying makeup for a natural look is easy. Nothing is worse than an excessively applied makeup. Today, I am going to be sharing some tips in achieving a natural flawless look;
STEP 1; With your foundation brush, apply small amount of foundation that matches your skin tone on your face. Gently smooth in and blend properly into your hairline.

STEP 2: Apply your loose powder lightly with a powder brush over the face.

STEP 3: Apply matte eye shadow in earthy tones such as brown, beige, gold and so on. Using an eye shadow brush, apply the eye shadow chosen on the eye lid and blend into the crease of your eyes which makes it less obvious that you have a shadow on.

STEP 4: Line your eye lid with either a black or brown eye liner depend on you but try to make it as thin as possible and gently line your lower lid also with the eye liner chosen.

STEP 5: Gently fill in the sparse in your eyebrows using the colour of eye pencil that suits your brows.

STEP 6: Apply a coat of black mascara on your lashes or any other depending on your natural lash colour.

STEP 7: Apply powder using an eye shadow brush on your eye brow bone and blend in properly.

STEP 8: Apply a neutral coloured blush on your cheek.

STEP 9: Finish the look by applying a neutral colour shade of lip stick and apply a clear lip gloss on the lips or preferably just little clear lip gloss to keep it simple.

Always remember in achieving a natural look, that transform you from *PLAIN TO STUNNING, less is more.

NB: There is need to use the right foundation that matches your tone skin and also for the natural look you can decide not to use the eye shadow and liner to keep it light.

    A "MUST" HAVE MAKE-UP TOOL!!!!

The secret to a beautiful and long lasting makeup is having the right makeup tools. In achieving a flawless look a "MUST" have make up tool is a set of makeup brushes. Makeup brushes help in giving the perfect finish to your makeup. Brushes are not just an extra but they help in applying your makeup with greater accuracy and precision, and they create a significant difference to the finished look. When applying makeup, choosing the correct makeup brush can create a flawless you. Knowing the uses of the makeup brushes is the first step, in transforming from * PLAIN TO STUNNING*.
Here are some basic makeup brushes and some details on how to make the most use of them:

    ·
FOUNDATION BRUSH: A foundation brush is used to apply liquid or mineral foundation over the face and neck. It gives better and more natural blending than a sponge, and also allows for better control. For a flawless application, rub the brush in the foundation and dot over your T-zone and then blend outwards for even coverage.

    ·       POWDER BRUSH: A powder brush can be used to apply loose powder and shimmer on the face. It is also used for dusting off excessive makeup products, setting of foundation and elimination of shine on the face. This brush gives an even finish compared to a powder-puff. For a flawless application, dip your powder brush into your powder, tap off extra powder, start from the nose, and blend the powder into your face.

    ·          CONCEALER BRUSH: A concealer brush is used to apply concealer to areas of discoloration and imperfection on the face. This brush effectively helps cover blemishes, spots, and imperfect skin tone. For a flawless application, put a tiny dab of concealer on the tip of your concealer brush. Lightly dab concealer under your eyes. Start at the inner corner and blend outwards. Use the tip of the brush to dab concealer on any dark blemishes or spots.

BLUSH BRUSH: A blush brush is used to add colour to the cheeks. It is used on the apple of the cheeks and the cheek bones to apply blush evenly. For a flawless application, swirls your blush brush into the blush and tap off the excess. Starting from the apple of your cheekbone, lightly swirl the blush brush in a circular motion. Glide the brush up toward your ear.

CONTOURING BRUSH:  A contouring brush is used for filling in the crease of your eye with eye shadow.  For a flawless application, dip your contouring brush into an eye shadow a few shade darker than the one on your lid and gently apply it on your crease which is above your eye lid.

    ·
EYE SHADOW BRUSH: The eye shadow brush can be used over the whole eyelid area. There are three types of brushes used on the eyes: a medium-sized one for the lid, a small one to line the socket of the eye, and a larger one for blending and add highlighting.

    ·         ANGLED BRUSH: The angled brush is used to apply enhancing cosmetics such as bronzers or highlighters on the eye socket. It can also be used to give a clear and precise arc shape for the eyebrows.

LIP BRUSH: A lip brush is a fine, soft and tapered brush that can be used to apply lipstick or lip gloss to the lips. It helps blend the lipstick with the lip liner to give a smooth and even finish to the lips. Using a lip brush will provide an even and accurate coverage, and your lipstick last longer.

MASCARA WAND: A mascara wand is used to remove excess mascara from the eyelashes. It can also be used to catch the hard-to-move hairs of your eyebrows. In doing this, brush upward, pluck any stray hairs below, fill in with eyebrow pencil and brush along the line of the arch.

A flawless professional makeup application begins with your tools and good quality brushes are great investment. So, now that you know about the various types of brushes and their uses, do not hesitate to use them while transforming from *PLAIN TO STUNNING*.
And also remember to wash your brushes regularly with a mild shampoo and warm water. Gently stroke the brushes in one direction to remove dirt and make-up, and then lay out to dry.
